Phoenix Metro Homes For Sale : Buyers get pre-qualified before looking at houses.

Buyers get pre-qualified before looking at houses.

Buyers get pre-qualified before looking at homes.

Buyers often want to start looking at homes, and they have an idea what they want to spend.  They will call and ask for some listings to look through, and then they follow up with a call to go and see some of their favorite listings.  It is understandable.  They are excited and want to get started looking.  But disappointment could be lurking.

First things first.   Buyers get pre-qualified before looking at homes.  The most important thing to do before going to see the homes is to see what you qualify for.  It is especially hard to have to lower your expectations in housing after you have already decided you want to purchase homes in a higher price range, only to find out you cannot qualify that high.  It is much easier on you to talk with a mortgage lender prior to “shopping” for a home so that you are looking at homes in a price range that you qualify for.

Many buyers who want to look first are often times disappointed to find out they cannot buy what they like so getting pre-qualified will save you a lot of disappointment. Again buyers get pre-qualified before looking at homes.  You will be glad you did.

On Friday, I got, "I got approved back when they were offering $8k, but didn't see anything I liked, now I want to see some this weekend..." To my reply of, NO! I'm not jumping through hoops of a buyer for last minute showings who didn't buy after looking for over a year, and doesn't have an updates approval. If you can't find something with an $8k carrot danging over your head, TIME-WASTER!!

Good post. Very appropriate topic aimed at the prospective home buying public which I see you are doing.

Check out Donna Harris' response above. Good one.
